An important aspect of the UMass Aquatics community is the alumni’s availability to current student athletes to provide guidance and advice on their next steps after leaving UMass. On April 9, 2008 Friends of UMass Men’s Swimming and Diving board members John Gardiner, Jim Robertson, Mark Vozella and Jim O'Sullivan, (with a combined seventy five years of business experience) provided a forum for current male swimmers to learn from their experiences.
Eight juniors and seniors from the Men’s team attended this seminar which focused on interviewing techniques and resume writing. The conversation covered successful interviewing techniques that ran the gambit from corporate America to running your own business. Many students brought their resumes which were briefly critiqued while other students had additional follow up with Jim O'Sullivan on enhancing their resume to better reflect their accomplishments.
The student feedback was very positive with additional seminars planned for the fall.
